I brag about how much I like Bukowski’s poems. A friend of mine says that’s always a bad sign. To prove him right, I invite an old man out on a beer date. After his fifth beer he says that talking about his favorite poets is better than sex. He talks and I listen. To escape boredom, I count passing clouds.


Réka Nyitrai is a spell, a sparrow, a lioness's tongue — a bird nest in a pool of dusk. She is the recipient of a Touchstone Distinguished Books Award for 2020 for her debut haiku volume "While Dreaming Your Dreams" (Valencia Spain: Mono Ya Mono Books, 2020).
