A Step Too Far

A bottle, empty, obscene and out of place. Nestled in the laundry, shrouded in brushed cotton and gifted woolens, cocooned in innocence. Hidden, she knows with deliberate, devastating care. One more challenge, one more lie, another reminder. She is a mother now, tigress, red in tooth and claw. Finally, enough.
