I Feel Your Pain

On a scale of one to ten, how scary are your nightmares? I ask my six-year-old patient. “Ten isn’t high enough,” he says. “It has to be one to a hundred. That’s how scary they are.” One to a hundred, then, I say. That’s a whole other story.
