On Second Thought

Last night at a local AA meeting, one of the members asked me who my sponsor was. “I don’t really have one,” I said. “That’s too bad,” he replied. “You're obviously not ready to get sober.” I wanted very badly to punch him in the mouth for saying that. But I also wanted a drink, so I wound up thinking maybe this fucker is not entirely wrong.
