My Alma Mater

by S. Rupsha Mitra

There were days on which I would loathe school, when attending school on those wintry mornings felt no less than wild torture. Never did I feel I were really attached to the place, the grounds unwelcoming, the classes too crammed up – the teachers known yet unknown. Introverted as I always was and am, I never realised the rhizomes of the bond I share with my school until the farewell day. As my memories of school stand today like a glorious monument - a golconda, I wonder how I miss my school. Midst all the hate I had for my school there was always a love brewing inside. Now, I can only thank my alma mater for all that it has endowed me.
