Greetings from Florida

by Alex Odom

I’m going to burn my house down today. When my wife and I bought it, I hated the way it looked empty, and I hate the way it’s packed full of shit now. We went to Tampa once, ate Cuban food in restaurants with names like Blue Havana and The Flamingo. We walked the beach until early in the morning when no one was around and made love on a blanket — like before we bought the house. When I said we should move there, she laughed and said one day. The naked pictures she let me take of her are the only things I’m saving — just in case she won’t come with me to Florida.
