by Benjamín de Buen
A five star hotel room with a casino 24 stories below. Beds unmade, blankets and sheets across the floor. Outside the bathroom is a woman I know, but can’t say her name, I call her Hot Chinese Chick, she calls me Mexican Boy. I’m kneeling before the toilet, once again, my reflection looks up at me from the toilet water, then hers. We’re dressed the same, in black and white. The glass cover of the portrait is shattered by my toilet brush.
