"I"

I ran my snowmobile up the side of a cliff. It fucking kicked ass. I ran my snowmobile up the side of a cliff. It fucking kicked ass. Avalanches start that way. I know.

Many ass-kicking activities cause destruction. So true, so true...

When I first read this, I was incredulous. Even though I was new to 6S, I found it hard to stomach that this was of high enough caliber to warrant its posting. Still, my mind returned to it throughout the day, trying to "get it", wondering what I was missing.

Then I realized that the first four lines were there to imply an echo off of the cliff's walls. (Right?) I had to admit, that was clever. It's still not my favorite piece of writing, but it made me think.

Thank you for that.

Special Message to Killerwit: your comment was also gratifying from beginning to end, for its honesty and for letting me know something I'd written had had an impact on you. If you email me (click Margery Daw), I'd be happy to let you know what I was going for - and if you had any thoughts on that, I'm sure it would help me grow as a writer.

Welcome to 6S!
