by Cormac Brown

His only wish was to see his stories told on the movie screen. The movie camera sees life at twenty-four frames per second. He tried to live his life at forty-eight frames per second, in an effort to make his dreams come true. His heart gave out before it could break. He never sold a story or even an idea. He never became a star, though he burned out like one... distant, alone, and no one in this galaxy even noticed.

6S

Cormac Brown is a pen name. The man behind the name is an up-and-slumming writer in the city of Saint Francis, and he's following in the footsteps of Hammett... minus the TB and working for the Pinkerton Agency. A couple of stories he's stapled and stitched together can be found here.

I have a feeling that you will not suffer the same fate as your protagonist. Nice 6S.

This was powerful and sad - and old tale told in beautifully spoken prose.

Thank you all and...

Quin,

Excellent question. Mmmmm, black and white, for the interplay of light and shadow.

Jeff,

I hope so.
