A New Dawn

Had I known that would be my last sunrise, I'd have lingered, imprinted the spectacle on my brain. But I didn't. Too busy living the life I'd soon lose. Still, there are better things than sunrises. An afterlife in the shadows has its own beauty. I lick blood from my fangs.
