You probably don’t remember, but you once made this off-handed comment about kitchen knives that made my heart thump and my skin prickle. But now I’m always anxious that one day you’ll decide to demonstrate your knife-handling finesse in an "unusual" way. Like one day all the fruits and vegetables at home will run out and you’ll use that as an excuse to slice the life out of yourself. If I ever told you this you’d probably laugh and say you care too much about the carpets to stain them with your blood. You'd laugh it off with a bright smile like you always do when I try to bring up something serious. But that really scares me, you know that?
