I stood apart from the other moms, pretending to check emails on my phone. Three women in black burquas walked by and they, too, ignored me. The noise from the Jumpee was going into my bones. Craving the burn of bourbon on the back of my throat, I licked my thirsty lips. Decided to wait in the car. As I sat there sweating liquor, I ate all the candy meant for my child, the favorite friend.
