There are pages in the story of my life that are bookmarked. They divide time into the before and after. I flip through my memories and pause at these pages finding passages underlined and important notes jotted in the margins. Here I met my husband; here I became a mother; here I lost a friend. And here the earth cracked and tilted off its axis, the stars dimmed, the sun cooled. Here my tears fell and dried upon the page.
