Ice Dancing

by Tara Lazar

Deep, soft knees, rise and fall, rise and fall. Look into your partner's eyes, the two shall dance as one. You feel his arm curve around you with an awkward reserve, as if he no longer knows how to lead. You will ask him to resign today. There is no more he can do for you on the ice, but in bed he will direct you more confidently as you glide into each other's rhythms. Deep, soft knees, rise and fall, rise and fall.
