She saved my life countless times. Whenever I had a self-destructive idea, I would come to her and tell her about it. Sometimes she would refuse to let me carry it out, but other times she would find a way for me to do it and live through it. Only she knows how many times I would have died without her. She made my dangerous life safe. She was my gymnastics coach.

Therese Kuczynski lives in New England with her large family, where she enjoys writing short stories and poetry. Her friends have always said that she is fearless, and her favorite sport as a child was gymnastics. (This piece is dedicated to Amy Morwick.)
